2010. 07. The LockDown III

They say good things come in threes... Well, The LockDown III (a.k.a. ClubComm's third birthday) is sure to deliver all kinds of goodness.

Previously held at our beloved SoSueMe @ Q Bar, we've decided to move it up the road this year to the infamous "Bar with no name" (or as some people call it, "The name with no bar"...)

Now for the pitch......For starters, LDIII is just the kind of event you need in December. Back for it's third year, it is proven to be the perfect end of exams celebration or work Christmas Party kick-on. The crowd is relaxed, the music is buzzing and the drinks aren't too pricey. No cover charge or guestlist nonsense either.

And of course, no birthday is complete without your very own free ClubComm party bags on arrival! Be sure to flash your Comma key tag (or pick up your personalised one for $10).

So El. Dee. Triple Three. ClubComm's 3rd Birth-dee. Are you a comma?

And here comes the disclaimer...ClubComm is in no way affiliated with any uni societies, Commerce clubs, Comms groups, Communist parties, Cults, Club promoters, or the likes. Its just a social club organising tailored events for you and your friends. We're ultimately bringing your online social network to life. So come along and forward this on to your friends!

2010. 06. The Comma Collection: Chapter One

In preparation for the release of the highly anticipated "Manual 2010" (... that's ClubComm's ultimate club, pub and bar guide highlighting the top 210 places of 2010), ClubComm presents to you, "The Comma Collection".

This series will feature unique nights out at the places ClubComm members have rated highly this year. Be sure to check out the... "What's on ClubComm?" group page to see what's coming up next.

To kick things off, we're hosting Chapter One at none other than Kit & Kaboodle - recently crowned best nightclub in Australia at the Australian Bar Awards (not even joking - read about it here!)
The cocktail lounge is the perfect place to unwind on a Friday and as one Comma called it "It's the least seediest place in the Cross!" Nice.

Still not sold? Well how about free entry on the ClubComm guestlist and a free drink? Mhhm.

For those keen to start the party earlier, feel free to join us for pre-drink's at The Sugarmill downstairs. We're easy to spot - keep an eye out for the Comma key tags - they're everywhere these days!

So forward to your friends, RSVP names and get ready to "Comma Canoodle at Kit & Kaboodle"... ha.

2010. 05. Karaocomma

So you think you can sing? Well prove it, karaoke style.

After popular demand, ClubComm presents "Karaocomma" - a karaoke night out with a classic Comma twist.

We challenge you to come along down to Echo Point (just near Town Hall) and get your song on. Brace yourself for a night of power ballads, pop classics, trashy tributes, sappy sing-a- longs, and the likes.

And if you're lucky, you may even witness a world's first display of "choreoke" - choreographed karaoke performances.

Singstar ain't got nothing on Karaocomma!

So RSVP (by Wednesday 29th please), forward to your friends, and we'll see you there songbirds.

2010. 04. Commtiki Trip... to the snow!

The first of many Commtiki trips is a 3 day weekend away at Jindabyne.

Roadtripping, Skiing, Snowboarding, and Apres-ski parties - all the ingredients of a classic ClubComm event.

...Want to be part of the action? Here are your options..

OPTION A) To roll with the ClubComm crew (we're getting a couple of 10 person apartments), Facebook message Monisha Ponnaiya with a "YES, I'M COMING", or text her, and she'll send you bank details for the accomodation deposit.

At the moment it is $250 per person for 3 nights. You have till 12 PM SATURDAY 10TH JULY. Remember you're welcome to invite friends - here at ClubComm we're happy to include anyone and everyone.

OPTION B) If you want to plan your own trip with a smaller group of friends and meet us there, go for it! We'll put up an itinerary closer to the trip to show you where we can join forces. Too easy.

And if you're wondering how much everything else will cost, it shouldn't be more than an additional $300 (food, drinks, lift passes, ski gear hire, lessons etc.)

Snow see you there!!

2010. 03. Oxford St Pub Crawl

There ain't no pub crawl like a ClubComm pub crawl, so after popular demand, we're doing one again.

We've already covered 12 bars by 12am in Newtown in'08 - 5 bars with drinks under $5 in the Cross in '09 - so now we're setting out to see how many bars we can obliterate on Oxford St.

Starting at the Burdekin at 5pm, the plan is to casually meander our way up to the Fringe bar, making pit stops at as many trendy bars we can (well, as many as we can get into...) Prepare yourself for a night of classic pub crawl games, cheesy challenges, and bogus banter with your new buddies.

Finally, don't forget to flash your comma keytag for some surprise treats (or bring $10 to get signed up to the club that's reigniting your social life - ClubComm.)

2010. 01. The Comma Collective Launch

After almost 3 years in the making, ClubComm has finally turned pro.
And what better way to celebrate, than with a historic night at Cargo.

That's right. The 6 month hiatus is over and ClubComm is ready to return bigger and better than ever. No cliche comes close to describing how exciting this is.

Keeping true to our roots, we've kept it as financially-friendly as possible - We're talking $5 pizzas and drinks all night, plus guestlist action for those of you kind enough to hit 'Attending'. Oh, and it's a long weekend... how Comm-venient?

More importantly, this launch night will be your first opportunity to apply for the highly anticipated "Comma key tags" - These personalised wonders will give you life membership to the ClubComm community, or as we now call it "The Comma Collective".

As an honorary member of the collective, not only will you become part of a group of individuals ready to support your every move, you will also receive discounts at a range of Comma approved and recommended pubs, club and bars around Sydney. Plus you'll get invited to unique Comma events and get access to the ultimate nightlife guide "The Manual 2010".
